Changfu Chang (常昌富)
Director
Changfu Chang is an award-winning filmmaker who has produced a series of documentaries on identities and cultural issues. His recent releases include Ricki’s Promise, winner of several awards at prestigious international film festivals and part of the Smithsonian Museum series on cultural identity in celebration of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month in 2016; and Meet Me on the Bridge, a BBC documentary that was viewed by over 60 million people within several months when first released on the BBC website. Jian (Lily) Chen (陈健)
Fundraising Team Director
Lily is a public health nurse educator and activist for Asian American and minority health. She was one of the founders of United Chinese Americans (UCA) and a key organizer for two Chinese American conventions. She has successfully coordinated multiple national and local programs, including the UCA’s Youth Mental Health Collaborative, WAVES (Wellness, Advocacy, Voices, Education, Support), starting in 2016. She is a Robert Johnson Foundation Clinical Scholar Fellow, an appointed board member for Wake County Health and Human Service Board, Vice Chair of Cary Senior Advisory Board, and a certified Mental Health First Aid instructor.
Her powerful editorials, ‘Nurses and Their Mental Health Pandemic‘, ‘Break the Silence on Mental Illness‘ and ‘Silenced Voices Now Speaking Out‘ were featured in the Alanta Journal-Constitution (AJC).
Sharon Shi
Fundraising Team Member
Sharon is an Attorney and Counsellor of the US Supreme Court, the New York State Bar, the New York Bar Association and American Immigration Lawyers Association. She is also a Board member for Chinese American Women in Action, Legal Immigration Association and United Chinese Americans Illinois Chapter, dedicated to the general well-being for Chinese-immigrants for the past years. Aside from her professional achievements, her services to promote legislative and administrative changes within the US immigration system were reported by numerous newspapers and other media outlets in the U.S.
Sharon is passionate about youth mental health and equity and justice for racial minorities. She cofounded One Book One World, a nonprofit organization that promotes images of Asian American and their contribution to this country.
Justine Zhou
Fundraising Team Member
Jun (Justine) Zhou is CEO of Zhou Agency. She began her career in Chicago real estate in 1993 and has developed extensive knowledge in residential investments and mortgage financing over the past 20 years. From 2003-2014, she broadened her expertise to include insurance services and accounting services. As her customers’ needs grew and evolved, Justine successfully transformed her business into a multi-dimensional financial planning company and an integrated provider of accounting, insurance, and real estate investment services. Justine graduated from Fudan University in 1990 and received an M.B.A. degree from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 1993.
A.C. Brooke
Assistant Director
A.C. Brooke is a freelance photographer currently studying media arts production and graphic communication technology at Millersville University. Some of her accomplishments include being published in both Bloomsburg University’s journal of art and literature, Warren, and Photographer’s Forum’s magazine, Best of College & High School Photography. She was also 1 of 200 artists in the United States who had her piece, “How Do You Say Goodbye?” selected to be showcased at Drexel University’s annual photo gallery. Much of her work revolves around raising awareness for mental health, with a specific focus on fighting the stigmas surrounding PTSD and eating disorders.
Currently, she’s directing her own documentary, Paper Birds, about the relationship between trauma and memory loss. Learn more about A.C. Brooke and her work here.
Andy Nitchman
Director of Photography & Assistant Producer
Andy Nitchman is an Emmy Award winning photojournalist and documentary filmmaker with more than fourteen years of experience. An avid photographer and traveler, Andy uses his camera to capture the stunning beauty of nature and startling moments of human life.
He has collaborated with Changfu on three previous documentaries and has shot content for the Outdoor Channel, National Geographic and PBS. Born and raised in Lancaster County Pennsylvania, Andy currently resides in Seattle Washington with his wife and son.
