Jian (Lily) Chen: Producer. Activist. Leader.
Lily is a public health nurse educator and activist for Asian American and minority health. She was one of the founders of United Chinese Americans (UCA) and a key organizer for two Chinese American conventions. She has successfully coordinated multiple national and local programs, including the UCA’s Youth Mental Health Collaborative, WAVES (Wellness, Advocacy, Voices, Education, Support), starting in 2016. She is a Robert Johnson Foundation Clinical Scholar Fellow, an appointed board member for Wake County Health and Human Service Board, Vice Chair of Cary Senior Advisory Board, and a certified Mental Health First Aid instructor.
Her powerful editorials, ‘Nurses and Their Mental Health Pandemic‘, ‘Break the Silence on Mental Illness‘ and ‘Silenced Voices Now Speaking Out‘ were featured in the Alanta Journal-Constitution (AJC).
